Lots of NEW product has arrived in store and will soon be all uploaded into our online store.

Our Crop Nights have grown to see a large amount of ladies joining us time and time again… There is still plenty of room for anyone wishing to join us…. our next one is Friday August 6th, from 6.45pm – midnight…. $10 per person, supper included, BYO projects, basic tools etc….

We have just been away on our anual retreat. We all had a blast and you can check out our photos on our facebook page. Click the link from our home page… We are looking at a Weekend Local Retreat very soon, and as more information comes to hand….. I will post it here….

Classes will be again starting soon..We have our regular Thursday morning Card Class still running and have so many ladies interested and booked in that we are looking at introducing a second class to accomodate everyone. Please send me an email or drop me a line if you are interested…

We have had so many entries this month in our Sketch’s and Challenges, it has been awesome! Keep those entries coming cause it could be your name being drawn out next month to win some gorgeous products or store vouchers for you to spend on product of your choice….

This is what you will need:

1. A Cuttlebug or die cut machine

2. An old pattern or aluminum foil

3. Brad

For this flower I used the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Bigz Die (extra large and the large floral)… And cut a piece of the pattern paper larger enough to be folded about 6 times until it fits the die.. run it though the cuttlebug like any other paper. Be careful in removing the flowers as they are very delicate and tear easily… once you have cut them all pull the flowers apart and randomly place back together so they are a little off centre.. once you are happy with the result hold them togther with a brad and there you are all done.. I used the i-top tool to make a brad the same as the rest of the layout and also sprayed some Gilmmer mist to give it some sparkle…

It was great to see the response we have had from the Scrapbook sketch but we are getting the same questions from most people and that it HOW DO WE USE A SKETCH????? Well here is a brief outline on how I use sketches…. A Sketch is basically a layout of a page like when you draw a sketch for a building plan… The only real difference is it is entirely up to you how you interpret that sketch… you can add pieces or take pieces away or flip the sketch or change anything to make it suit your needs…. I started using sketches when a very good friend of mine Andrea , who just happens to be a design team collegue, introduced me to the wonderful world of sketches.. once i did a few I was hooked.. we reguarlly use a sketch site call stuck sketches http://stucksketches.ning.com/ which is a sketch comp site … i have incuded a couple of photos of how people use and interpret sketches and then you can see for yourself how easy sketches really are to use.. once you master them you are just hooked it is the easiest and quickest way to scrap or card make….

This is the orginal sketch

Example One

Example Two- more elaborate but look at how she has used the basic elements of the sketch but put in a few extras to suit her needs

Example three- see how simple this looks but the sketch has been flipped on its side to create a different aspect…
